I think I can let my crashed harddrive go now. Nothing has seemed to help. Neither Spinrite 6 or Ontrack Data Recovery seems to help. I think it is because the disk refuses to initialize and spin up. I think maybe I need to open it up. I tried the freezer method already, but I only left it in the freezer for about 2 hours, I need to try this method. Well, bleh. I'm hoping that Fred kept a copy of the stuff on this drive.
On another note, after dealing with this harddrive mess, I tried out 2 of the 'ragdoll fighter' games that someone had sent me links to. They both are designed around the concept of ragdoll physics when characters interact (fight). A good example of this can be seen in this flash application Tetka.
Ragdoll Kungfu is pretty neat and runs off through Valve's Steam software distribution. It has a very cheezy feel but the sounds are nice even if the graphics are kinda lame. It is immensly immensely fun to watch the characters fly all over the screen defying gravity and Newtonian physics.
Ragdoll Masters is another take on the ragdoll physics but it is very low-fi (think low-budget Tron). This one is just a single EXE download that doesn't require any installation or uninstallation (other than deleting the files). This game has an interesting twist when you defeat your opponent that you have to play it to see. You can interact with a screen full of spheres that compromised their body. Too wierd.
