For Valentines Day, Ashley and I stayed in Cupertino instead of using any time travelling back up to San Francisco. We stayed overnight at the
Kimpton Cypress hotel in Cupertino for the second time and I present a quick review on the place.
The absolute BEST thing about the Cypress is the decor. Hands down, leopard print done classy is my favorite. Red velvet chaises,
animal print carpet and sultry dim lamps are just the start. Staying on the 8th floor look out over south isn't bad either. This stay, the executive suite we stayed in had a
Fuji tub in it (think really deep whirlpool tub) that had a clear glass window installed right next to it looking out over the city. Only in Vegas can you get something this lavish.
The staff is hospitable yet they lack any kind of organization. Both times we have visited we have almost had to check ourselves into the hotel. The front desk help is almost non-existent, yet call the front desk and someone answers. Go figure!
The hotel offers a wine and beer tasting hour, yet the hours aren't published. We missed it last night (but we weren't exactly trying to make it). We did manage to catch one last time we stayed and if you do make it, make sure to checkout the main lobby waiting area where the tasting hour is held. The fireplace is warm and the chairs and couches are very comfortable.
Free Wi-fi, a well stocked mini bar, a well placed power-surge protecting power strip and a full size living room make this a very good location to conduct business. Ashley thinks we might have a cocktail party here one night so don't be surprised if we invite some of yall to it.
I'd like to stay in
Hotel Valencia next time we stay in the South bay. The only issue being that the Valencia room rates are about twice as much as the Cypress (which is already pretty high). If anyone wants to put me up for the night there, I'd be happy to review it!
