I created this post with the YUI Editor I integrated into my private branch of dasBlog (release coming soon).

I also added my own Flickr photo plug-in like the folks over at Yahoo did. Behind the scenes is just a simple REST proxy.

I am also using a custom toolbar version for the user comments. I will hookup the Flickr plugin for a while so that folks can see how it works. Feel free to enrich your comments with Flickr photos until I close the feature.


No html view means I will continue to use TinyMCE as my admin editor. It also doesn't support an undo-buffer like many of the other leading rich-text editors.

For visitor comments however, I will be testing the YUI editor until I decide if it is as good as the TinyMCE implementation I hacked up (which also has support for all the major browsers). I suppose it would be an easier choice for someone using the YUI lib already. Let's see what the user acceptance is like.

After you peep the good stuff, come back and peruse this short list of videos that I hope make it to the final movie just to prove that it is user-generated, in a good way.

Because I love G-Mail, and the deadline is Sunday and the fact that Ashley works at Google, I will be submitting an entry tomorrow into the Gmail: A Behind the Scenes user-generated collaborative Video project that the Gmail team is running.

I wanted to get a feel for what some of the responses were like so far so I didn't make a clip that people make fun of wastes my time.

I don't watch much TV, and I watch even fewer channels, but I am happy to see the return of the man's man to television. I ain't talking about no motorcycle loving baldies, I mean a real tough-ass.

Yea, I'm sure everyone expected Mike to make the list. So we will agree that he generally is a kick-ass. Except for when it comes to snakes.

2. Bear Grylls



I saw him eat some crazy shit. And he killed a snake outright on TV. Plus, I don't think he is afraid of falling from heights. This dude is tops in my book.

3. Colin Ferguson as Jack Carter in Eureka



Way more Andy Taylor than Barny Fife, but seemingly more bad-ass since he has to solve more difficult problems. Also, I am glad Eureka got another season.
